New Holland Veterinary Hospital

Due to the current surge in COVID-19, along with moving into cold and flu season, we have made the difficult decision to return to curbside-only appointments. This will go into effect on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, and we anticipate following these protocols through the end of the year.

We have been very fortunate to be able to remain open and healthy despite COVID, and feel that returning to curbside-only is the best option.

We ask that clients call our office when arriving at our facility for appointments. When the doctor is ready to see your pet, a staff member will contact you via cell phone and instruct you to place your pet in the vestibule at the entrance of the facility. You must wear a mask in the vestibulePlease make sure that your pet is leashed or in a carrier. You will be instructed to attach our leash to your pet in addition to leaving yours attached. Then step out of the vestibule and close the door. A staff member will take your pet to an exam room, where the doctor will examine your pet and contact you to discuss examination findings, a treatment plan, and medication (if necessary). A staff member will then process payment for your pet’s visit. You will then receive instruction for where to retrieve your pet from, along with medications, your invoice and receipt.

If you are picking up medication or food for your pet, please call our office when arriving at our facility. A staff member will process payment for your item(s) and then place the item(s) along with your invoice and receipt at the exit door for you to pick up. This is the protocol we have used since March and it has worked well.

We appreciate your patience and compliance as we continue to provide services to you and your pets, while keeping our staff, families, and clients safe.

Please contact our office at (717) 354-8095 with any questions or concerns, or to discuss accommodations to accompany your pet if euthanasia is needed.

  • Gimpy

24 Hour Security - Guard Cats
Gimpy is a 4 year old male kitty that came to New Holland Veterinary Clinic when a former employee found him as a stray in her neighborhood.  He was just an itty bitty little thing that had a severe injury to his right front leg.  It appeared to our doctors that he had his leg caught in some sort of trap which caused a fracture.  When Gimpy got himself free from the trouble he got into, this also caused a lot of damage to the overlaying nerves, muscles and tissues.  The staff did all they could to nurse his wounds, but after several weeks he was showing no sign of improvement.  To help keep his life as happy and pain free as possible, the decision was made to amputate the injured leg.  After a few more weeks of recovery and healing, Gimpy was as good as new!

Our buddy Gimpy had a rough start to life, but is loved and spoiled by his family here at New Holland Veterinary Hospital.  Unfortunately you will probably never see Gimpy when you stop by our facility.  I am sure due to the trauma he experienced as a baby, he is very shy and does not make new friends all that easily.  He does warm up to people eventually and is a good friend and great cuddler when he decides you are trustworthy.  If you do happen to catch Gimpy out and about in the hospital, get quick look, before you know it he will be off like a flash.  He is an active, playful little man despite his handicap.
