  • Gimpy

24 Hour Security - Guard Cats
Gimpy is a 4 year old male kitty that came to New Holland Veterinary Clinic when a former employee found him as a stray in her neighborhood.  He was just an itty bitty little thing that had a severe injury to his right front leg.  It appeared to our doctors that he had his leg caught in some sort of trap which caused a fracture.  When Gimpy got himself free from the trouble he got into, this also caused a lot of damage to the overlaying nerves, muscles and tissues.  The staff did all they could to nurse his wounds, but after several weeks he was showing no sign of improvement.  To help keep his life as happy and pain free as possible, the decision was made to amputate the injured leg.  After a few more weeks of recovery and healing, Gimpy was as good as new!

Our buddy Gimpy had a rough start to life, but is loved and spoiled by his family here at New Holland Veterinary Hospital.  Unfortunately you will probably never see Gimpy when you stop by our facility.  I am sure due to the trauma he experienced as a baby, he is very shy and does not make new friends all that easily.  He does warm up to people eventually and is a good friend and great cuddler when he decides you are trustworthy.  If you do happen to catch Gimpy out and about in the hospital, get quick look, before you know it he will be off like a flash.  He is an active, playful little man despite his handicap.
  • Sammy

Sammy came to live with us at New Holland Veterinary Hospital in September of 2012.  Dr. Harris was volunteering at the Humane League and Sammy was scheduled for euthanasia because his diabetes could not be controlled.   We got his diabetes under control and he now rules the office.  He can be very demanding (when he wants fed) and a litte bit naughty, but we all love him!
